The pace of life changes dramatically once a child enters your life. It’s goes by so crazy fast but it’s sprinkled with moments where you have to just freeze time and be.
I’m not as busy work-wise this summer…which is good and bad. I’ve still got plenty to keep me busy, but not as many hard deadlines. So I’m at least taking full advantage of the extra time I have now. I’m lucky to be able to spend this much time with Celia. Glass half full right?
Recently we had a great time together at the local playground. I’ve come to realize that I live in this Rockwellian paradise of a rural community. The (spankin new) local library is the hub of activity including my Tuesday night Spanish class and Celia’s playgroup. It’s also where we go to pick up our online farmer’s market purchases on Thursday (some of which is grown in the hoop house out back) and that’s how we ended up at the next door playground.
There was nothing particularly unusual about this day, other than that it was the kind of beautiful that makes you stop and notice. I romped around with Celia, rode down the (super-high!) slides with her and just watched her explore. To me, there’s nothing more amazing. I know I often forget, but I’m so thankful for what I have and where I am. Pure joy.
Playground spotted…look out!
Look how high! High enough for this grown woman to get a thrill from the slide

“Better stay on your toes Mama.”
It’s been the most amazing spring/summer so far. The weather has been perfect.
